Madonna Della Milicia

This is where our story began — in Altavilla Milicia, Sicily, the ancestral home of our community. It was here, in 1623, that the image of our Blessed Lady arrived and has been venerated each year ever since.

Society of Maria SS Lauretana - Chicago Chapter

Although there were, and are, other chapters of the Society of Maria SS Lauretana in the United States, Chicago is the most well known. Established circa 1900, the Society of Maria SS Lauretana of Chicago is still going strong today. It's yearly festival attracts thousands of patrons each year where they hold a three day festival, similar to Altavilla Milicia, Sicily. The Arizona chapter can be viewed as descending from the Chicago chapter as it's founding members came from Chicago. Below is the link to their website:

St. Joseph Catholic Church of Phoenix, AZ
The Society of Maria SS. Lauretana is deeply grateful to our parish home, St. Joseph Catholic Church in Phoenix, Arizona. Without their generous hospitality, we would not have a place to gather as a community.
St. Joseph’s has welcomed us with open arms, providing space for all our activities — from monthly meetings and get-together dinners to our annual St. Joseph Table and, most importantly, our yearly celebration in honor of Our Lady.
We are truly blessed to call this parish our home, and we encourage those in the Phoenix area to consider joining the St. Joseph parish family.
